Story
Growing up, xplate Founder, Austin Acri was an undefeated wrestler until he joined the varsity team as a freshman and lost nearly every match. Telling his coach he would do anything to not spend another season like that, he was introduced to the plate workout. After months of training with the plate, he began winning again and noticed he would remain stronger than his opponents late into his matches. He saw countless other kids go through the same thing, and become stronger and better from the same workout.
Fast forward 8 years, Austin was in college & found he had minimal free time to work out, but remembered how quick & effective the plate workout was in his wrestling days. He decided to go out and buy a 45-pound plate and began doing full body workouts wherever and whenever he wanted. Whether it was on the beach, a cliff side, local park, or evening in a parking lot, nothing stopped him from getting a workout in, that hit almost every muscle group in under 30 minutes.
Fast forward a little more, with a degree in Biomedical Engineering under his belt, Austin realized that the static hand position of the plate workout wasn’t ideal, so he went to the drawing board. After 4 years of conceptualizing, he finally figured it out, and xplate was born.
